Programs and Services

We follow the Manitoba provincial curriculum, but our lessons go far beyond textbooks. Academic offerings are complemented by cultural programming that integrates Cree traditions, language, and history into daily learning.

Students benefit from opportunities to engage with Elders, participate in traditional activities, and take part in events that strengthen community ties and cultural pride.

By combining strong academics with cultural grounding, Chemawawin School helps students grow in knowledge, confidence, and identity, preparing them to succeed while staying connected to their roots.

  • Elders and Knowledge Keepers share wisdom and stories
  • Land-based learning connects students to traditions and skills
  • We proudly host events like the First Nations Youth Celebration of Our Languages
  • With support from Manitoba First Nations SchoolNet (MFNS) and others, we offer resources, cultural programs, and technology to strengthen learning

Our Role in the Community

We are more than a school-we're a hub for connection. Education is one of the largest employers in Chemawawin Cree Nation, and we are at the center of it all. We host:

  • Community gatherings
  • Sports tournaments and team activities
  • Cultural celebrations
  • Leadership opportunities for youth
